Planned Litters

Litters Planned, Never Accidental

We produce one to two carefully considered litters every two to three years — no more. What follows is our current plan, and an honest account of what to expect from us.

The Plan

Current and Planned Litters

A planned litter becomes a confirmed breeding only after both parents pass their health testing. Dates move; our standards do not.

Whippet

Planned — spring 2027

This will be our first Whippet litter and we are very excited.

Basset Hound

Planned — Spring 2028

Our next generation of slow, deliberate hound breeding. Inquiries now being welcomed.

The Record

Previous Litters

Each entry records the pairing, the puppies produced, and where they went. Ask about any of these lines and we will gladly talk about them.

Basset Hound

2024

A house-raised litter from our foundation lines. Details of the pairing and placements to be filled in.

Whippets

2021

Details of this litter — sire, dam, and placements — to be filled in.

Going Home

What a Puppy Takes Home

01

Raised in the Home

Whelped and raised in the house — handled daily and socialized with intention from the first week.

02

Veterinary Care Begun

Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, begun before your puppy ever leaves us.

03

A Complete Record

A written record of everything we know: pedigree, health testing of the parents, and our observations of your puppy from birth.

04

A Breeder for Life

Every Absinthe puppy leaves with a breeder for life. We answer the questions, celebrate the milestones, and welcome a dog home if circumstances ever change.

Puppies leave between eight and ten weeks of age, depending on the litter and the individual puppy.

Placement

How the List Works

Because we breed rarely, our litters are often spoken for before they arrive. We keep a considered list of approved homes — not a paid waiting list — and we match puppies to homes rather than selling to whoever asks first. Just please know, we will not consider placing a puppy in any home until it is between 12-14 weeks old.

Begin with an inquiry. We will ask about your home, your experience, and your plans; you should ask us anything as well. A placement begins with a conversation, and often continues for a dog's lifetime.

Inquiries

Serious Inquiries Welcome

If a planned litter speaks to you, we would be glad to hear from you. Tell us about your home, your experience with dogs, and what draws you to the breed.

Every inquiry receives a personal reply. We place puppies the way we breed them — carefully.
